Day 29: Favorite childhood toys...

What where my 3 favorite toys/games as a child?

I remember very much playing with barbies and He-men with my brother growing up. We were VERY YOUNG but it was the best ever.  We used the He-man castle, gi-joes, barbies and the little people castle.  Man we had it down. Haha!

I also loved playing ghosts in the graveyard with the neighborhood kids at night. We would go between all our houses for hours until it was very dark outside.  Our parents would be on the porch watching drinking beers with each other etc. Those were the days of carefree bliss.

There were so many it’s hard to choose just three but I would say the last one would be my roller skates.  Did I wear those things out! My friend and I would get our skates on and for HOURS we would do dance routines to songs like “Rhythm of the Night” by DeBarge and others. That was always so much fun!

Day 28: Love language

What is my love language?

I wasn't sure how to answer this at first. My mind immediately goes to the gutter.  I can't help it, it is just how I am! RUH-ROH city! I can't explain why my head goes there it just does! What can I say.

Anyways, I guess I use physical touch and acts of service.  AND BY Acts of service I mean, making dinner or just doing things for my spouse. Not ANYTHING else! lmao!!!

What is YOUR love language?

Day 25: Dinner with anyone in history...

If I could have dinner with anyone in history, who would it be and what would I eat?

Geez, who thinks about these things? I have NO Idea! There is definitely more than one.
I would also like to hang with Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin and the whole entire Led Zeppelin band!

I’d have deep philosophical discussions with Mother Theresa, Ghandi and Dalai Lama.

Then I would go to Bob Marley and share what I learned having an even deeper conversation on a whole new level!

As for eats... Who cares look who I'm with! Awesome!

Day 26: A notion the world has wrong!

What popular notion do I think the world has wrong??

OMG!!! LET ME GET ON MY SOAPBOX!!!!

The world has this idea of what BEAUTY is that is SOO WRONG!!! The media shows young girls these perfect images of women and how women should look, dress, smell, sound like etc etc. IT IS SO TWISTED!!! All of Hollywood is AIRBRUSHED and our poor children are growing up thinking that is how they need to look!!!

As a parent you can try and try and try to raise your kids with great self confidence, and remind them it isn’t what is on the outside it is what we have on the inside that counts and that works...for a while! Then they get into their puberty phase and it all changes. Magazines, TV, EVERYTHING shows a FALSE image and this, THIS is what they cling too! So sad!

When I hear my daughter say she is fat and she is all of a size 2 in juniors it makes me ill. She thinks she is fat just because the skin on her legs flatten out when she sits. UM everyone’s legs do that honey!

It is crazy, crazy, crazy! I could go on but I won’t I will leave it at that! :)

HELLO!!! I know it has been a few days without a post.  I was taking a small break with the family and didn't bring the laptop. It was much needed and wonderful!

Describe your first job...

My first job was working at Kohl's food store as a cashier.  I loved that job, because I LOVE talking to people and I met a lot of them there.  I had just turned 16 and was so eager to work.  I also remember being able to work in the liquor department. That was when you know you made it big there!  What a fun group of people to work with as well!

That was also where I met my husband! I could always see his head bop up and down over the cash register light. haha! Who would have thought all these years later we'd be married for 14 yrs with two kids! Good Stuff!

Day 20: Childhood memories

3 significant child hood memories

First... I remember being about 11ish with my friend Jaime and we always got into mischief together (and still to this day). For some reason we were fascinated with fire and this one day I remember particularly well because a. we still talk about it to this day and b. I was wearing brand new shoes my mom bought me at JCPenny’s Outlet!  We were in the alley off the main street and one of us had a book of matches probably Jaime she was the TRUE trouble maker and we started a small fire.  We as we were sitting there watching it this lady drives by and screams FIRE FIRE FIRE out of her car window. It scared the shit out of us so we quickly stomped out the fire and that is when my brand new shoes got a little burnt! I was so upset because I just got them and they were KEDS! I found a picture of the exact shoe on the interweb!!!!!!  Anyways, we thought we were scared and never did it again!
LMAO! I can't believe I found the picture of them!!!

Second...I always remember my little brother following after us on his BIG WHEEL!!! We would never want to play with him and we would be on our skates or bikes and there he’d be right behind us on his big wheel. I think sometimes we’d turn it into a game and he’d chase us but man I still hear that sound today of the little yellow plastic brake against the plastic black rear tire and then the skidding of the tires on the cement.  I swear it instantly takes me back!

Three... being at my grandparent’s house!  We spent so much time there! My grandfather would walk us to a grocery store on the other side of town and buy us these mini gallons of oj. Man did he spoil us. He was hard on us but he spoiled us. My grandma making us treats and my favorite milked down coffee with saltine crackers. YUM!!! The plum tree and strawberry plants in the backyard. The porch my grandpa would sit on with his radio playing Mexican music. The attic that turned into a playroom for us, we’d spend hours up there! I could go on and on but I LOVED IT!!!

See the stars...

Day 19: If I could live anywhere

If I could live anywhere, where would it be…

If I could live anywhere it would be on a small farm out in the country somewhere off the map.  It would have to be in a climate that still changes. I LOVE MY SEASONS! I’d grow my own food and raise my own animals.  We would be totally self sufficient and not need to go anywhere for anything. That is pretty much it! Lol!  I say this now and watch I’d get like cabin fever and go crazy because I need PEOPLE!!!! So maybe…. I could start my own little community somewhere! Lol... Umm Cult much!

Fine, I think I am good where I’ve been planted!

Day 18 - Difficult thing I had to Forgive

What is the most difficult thing I had to forgive…

OH BOY!!!! I don’t even know!
I guess forgiving my uterus.  My uterus that for 1 week of the month is sore and another week of the month bleed.  You make me ache, uncomfortable, irritable, tired, you cramp and get bloated among many other issues.  UGH, not sure I actually want to forgive you but I will. I forgive you that for about 2 weeks out of the month, 24 weeks out of the year you are out of commission.  You make planning difficult for the summer months.  IT ALL REVOLVES AROUND YOU ALL THE TIME!!!

Yet even though you do all those things, you also housed my two beautiful daughters for months.  Making their home comfy and cozy.
So, yes I forgive you.  It is hard because you will continue to give me pain until I go through menopause. WAIT, that is right I still have menopause. On second thought.. FU uterus!

Day 16: What are my 5 Greatest Accomplishments

My 5 greatest accomplishments...

1.      Emily – I never thought I would have a child so caring, thoughtful, full of compassion, caring, sensitive.  She is going to be a healer of some kind as an adult. Whether for people or animals she is bound for great things!

2.    Cristina – I also never thought I’d have a child so bold, strong, and full of humor and life! She is the life of the party DAILY! She has such a big personality and she will shine bright where every she goes and with whatever she does!

3.     My marriage – Coming off of just celebrating 14 years. I am proud to say that I love my husband so much more than ever before. He is my soul mate and I couldn’t imagine myself with anyone else. The relationship we have built is strong. We have been through many things together and even today with being laid off and other business woes we continue to overcome!

4.    The relationship with my mom – We have been through hell and back! My teenage years were not pleasant! Over the past 10 years our relationship has grown tremendously and I am so amazingly proud of the both of us for fighting and never giving up.  We had some really nasty fights; I mean the ugly truth kind! We were able to overcome those and today she is my best friend! LOVE YOU MOM!

5.     The home we have built – not physically, we never actually built a home. By this I mean what we built on the inside with each other. Yes, we can bicker sometimes and disagree but in the end we work it out.  No, it is not always sunshine and rainbows with little fairies fluttering around but it’s real.  We are honest with each other and LOVE each other. We make time for each other and its quality time. We listen, we hug, we kiss, and we laugh, we cry, whatever we do, we do together! We are a family!

Day 15 - Whad kind of animal are you?

Ironically, when looking at the meaning of animals I related to the SPIDER! REALLY!!! Here is what it said, “Spider - Creative, pattern of life, connects the past with the future, creating possibilities. The Web of life, Interconnectedness, Industry”

I can relate to that, especially about the “web of life” “pattern of life”. LOVE IT! Still hate spiders though. So I kept looking…

EUREKA I FOUND IT!!!

The Otter!!! Check this out:

Otter - Laughter, curiosity, mischievous, feminine power, grace, empathy, joy, play, helpfulness. Joy, Laughter, Lightness.

This one it really quite perfect!!!

Day 14: 5 Strengths

Describe 5 strengths that I have…

I should have known this would be the next one with doing the weaknesses yesterday. These are getting hard!  LOL!

Here we go:

1.      I am a hard worker.  Give me a task and I will complete it!

2.    I am a half glass full kind of person. I always try to see the best in every situation.

3.     I am a pretty outgoing and easy to talk to person. I can get along with almost anyone.

4.    I am a very passionate person.  Now at times I can get emotional very easily but I’d rather have that then not feel things.

5.     Playfulness, I love to laugh and have fun and I like to make other people laugh and smile.

Just for the record this post took me FOREVER to do!!! Why is it so easy to find the negative and SO MUCH HARDER to find the positive in us?

Father's Day DIY

Oh joy! We actually finished something early for once!

I found this really cute idea on Pinterest and so glad it worked out well. It really took only a total of about an hour and a half from start to completion because my daughters actually decided to get along for the picture taking.

Here is what we did for Todd.

It makes my heart melt!  I love it!

I loved it SO much I decided to do one for my father:

I mean really!!! SO stinkin cute!!
I wanted to copy the link to from pinterest but it came up as SUSPICIOUS so I couldn't sorry!
All we did were cut out giant bubble letters from regular white paper and the heart from red construction paper. I also just used my iPhone to take the pictures.
For editing I used my new favorite website called Pic Monkey.  Click here to get to it.  You can do SO much with it and I absolutely love it! That website contributes to my InterWeb addiction!
We bought 8x10 frames from the craft store to put them in and away we went! Very cheap and fun father's day gift!
ENJOY!!

3. Music - I LOVE MUSIC!!  It literally moves me.  Brings me up when I'm down, brings memories of people or events in my life. I have it on all the time! LOVE IT!

4. Thrive on chaos - I am the type of person that will put things off put things off and put more things off.  Which creates a bit of chaos for me HOWEVER, I thrive on chaos.  It is when I do my best! So maybe more of an organized chaos!!! I know its sick!

5. Babies - I am a sucker for babies and toddlers. I love to play with them make them laugh etc. My husband HATES IT!!! He elbows me as I might be embarrassing him!  lol! oh well! Coochie- Coochie- Coo!!!!

Day 12: Typical Day

Describe a typical day in my life...

Well, this could lead to a pretty uneventful post! As, job hunting takes up most of my day and working on blog crap!

Here it goes anyways...

The day for me at this moment consists of keeping track of a wild 9 yr. old who likes to play with her friends all day.  Going back and forth from our house to her friend’s house all day long!  I seriously mean ALL DAY! I swear our doorbell starts to ring around 8:30-9:00am and then she is gone!  She will come home from time to time and each time she looks crazier than the next! By the end of the day you get this…

One HOT MESS! (this was her trying to pose like a lady after she was just telling me to smell her pits!)

Other than that I am picking up or tiding up and the house still doesn’t look clean! I think I am not quite sure how to handle being home all day.  I am sure I will fall into a groove after this week.  I have to or I will efffing GO CRAZY!  I hope there is a job lined up before then!

I also am on the computer a lot for job hunting and blog stuff.  I am still a newbie so I am working on ways to improve etc.  It takes a lot of freaking work! As for the job hunt, I do it in spurts. Part in the am and part in the pm making sure I do all the logging of jobs applied for etc. for unemployment. blah blah blah...
Sorry, this was sooooo Boring!

Day 11: Pet Peeves

Describe a few of my pet peeves...

OH MY WORD!!! This is difficult because I hate to admit it I have SO MANY!  I kind of have OCD, let me be clear the OCD is not associated with cleaning.  If that were the case my house would look much different.

 Oh boy let me begin:

1. I do not like when people dip their chip, pretzel or veggie directly into the dip container.  Scoop that shit out and put it in a small bowl. I don't need that container getting contaminated.  Contaminated with what you ask, ummm spit when you speak, pet hair, dust, SPIT, germs, did I mention SPIT!  UGHHH!!! I am getting grossed out just thinking about it!  Seriously, there is nothing worse!!!

2. An empty toilet paper roll.  I have to admit my kids were good at changing it for a while but quickly do they forget. I truly DISLIKE when I go to the bathroom and only after I am done do I realize there is no toilet paper. OMG!! seriously!!!  Then you have to do the shake at the toilet before getting up and shimming to the closet to get TP only to....well you get the point! I'll spare you ugly details.

Okay this will be the last one.  It did say few after all!

3. When my kids hand smell like ass! LETS BE REAL FOR ONE SECOND MOMS!! You KNOW exactly what I speak of.  Kids are Kids and they do not always wash their hands like their are supposed to.  Not to mention when something itches they itch it, not a second thought about it. You know when you kid wants to give you a hug or moves their hand close to your face and you get that whiff of the Ass smell. WASH YOUR HANDS!!! Then you can give me all the hugs you want! I am SOOOO glad my kids are over that!

Enjoy your day!

Day 10: Describe your most embarrassing moment

Describe your most embarrassing moment...

Well, surprising that was very hard to do.  I had SO MANY embarrassing moments it was hard to pick just one!  I know I seem so well put together! LMAO! That it’s hard to believe.

Here is my favorite one though:

I was probably 22 at the time so it was only last year. J I went out to eat and mostly have drinks with my good friend at the time.  We went to TGI Fridays, they had the best drink specials at the time. We were there for a while!
Now let me break away for a second to give you more details of how this is laid out. They had a whole side of the seating area that was windowed. So, as you sat there and ate you could see everyone coming and going from the parking lot.  They also had a walkway outside that as you walked up you could either go up a ramp or a small step.  Then you would walk along a walkway where you could see everyone sitting at their tables to the front door. Not a lot of privacy for sure.

ANYWAYS, we probably had a few more than I like to admit.  As we were leaving my friend decided to walk down the ramp and I proceeded to go down the step.  I somehow missed the step and totally fell on my face. Now, let me clarify there was no bending of the knees. I fell like a big as REDWOOD tree that just got chopped down.  Gravity took hold and there was no turning back. THANK GOD I had a purse in my hand and when I fell I somehow managed to put it up to my face preventing me from hitting my forehead on the cement.
Now at this point it is completely silent.  I’m thinking OMG where is my friend? Did she fall too? Is she ok?  Nope, she was just fine!  She was laughing so hard, that she had to bring herself down to the ground and sit. She was laughing so hard that no sounds came out! Her face was so red and she wasn’t breathing!  Then I look over a bit more and SHIT that whole section of the restaurant where the windows are EVERYONE is looking to see what happens next.  Then as I look a little harder…OMG, some of the people are people I worked it at that time! HOLY EMBARRASSMENT BATMAN!!!!!

I did manage to get up and my friend did manage to stop laughing for a second but boy oh boy did we laugh really hard together over that incident. I will probably never forget it!

Day 9: What defines me?

What defines me?

I had to think just for a "little" bit about this question.  I wasn't sure how to answer it exactly. It's hard to step back and take a look at yourself and then share what you see.

I am a mother, wife, daughter, and friend.  I am strong, independent, a fighter and a positive soul.
I share positivity and try to uplift others. I am a half glass full person.  I don't believe in dwelling on negativity or letting crappy situations get the best of me.

I choose to always be happy and grateful.

What defines you?

Day 8 - Passion

What are 3 passions I have…

Hands down my family for sure!
I love making, baking and creating things for them. I enjoy seeing them happy when I make something they like. It makes ME feel good and let’s not be mistaken, it IS all about me! J

Baking
I do enjoy baking yummy treats! I do not make things up on my own I do use recipes and tweak here and there.  I am no Julia Child or Martha Stewart, which is fine by me! I just enjoy to bake yummy things for my friends and family.

Life in General
I try to enjoy life and live it to the fullest. I love my life and the people in it!  Now don’t get me wrong my life is not perfect, it is not all sunshine and rainbows. I just choose not to dwell on the yucky things or let the negativity overcome me. I choose to see the good, life is too short to get upset about things.  I believe that when you choose to see the positive, good can only come from it.

Day 7 - Dream Job

What is your dream job and why?

Actually, it wouldn't be a job. If I could do anything in the world I would have huge mansions for children without homes to go to. I would of course have to have $$ for this enormous feat.  I've always told my husband that's what I would do if I had money! I would make it a place that would actually feel like home.  With actual bedrooms and living rooms etc. There in-between home on their way to their forever home!

That is all!

Inspiration

Day 6 - Hardest thing I ever experienced

Follow my blog with Bloglovin
What is the hardest thing I ever experienced?

Hands down I say they day I handed over my baby girl to the nurse as they took her for her first of four surgeries. I tried so hard to play it cool but as soon as I walked out to the waiting room I lost it. The thought of my poor baby so helpless and at the mercy of the Dr's. was heartbreaking. She was born with a large mole on her forehead called a Hairy Nevus. It was being removed for two reasons, 1. the potential for cancer and 2. it was HUGE!

She had a series of 4 surgeries up to the age of almost 3. Each time the healing was worse for her. But let me tell you this girl is SPUNKY! As a young girl herself portraits would includ her "Harry Potter" scar on her forehead. I LOVED that she just knew it was part of who she is. Even now as a 9 year old she doesn't let it faze her. Every once in a while there is a kid at school who will say something and she will come home and say something about it. I told her to tell them she was a super-secret ninja girl and she got into a fight, it’s a battle wound! She laughs and its over. Here is my sassy, funny, loving, sensitive but tough, tom boy, witty, smart and so much more Rock Star of a child.

This is my girl.  She is ONE OF A KIND.  I mean seriously just look at her outfit! The best part is my husband was all over town with her looking like that after her Dr. Appt. Let me point out the lovely belt used as a scarf and that bright green & white thing underneath the layers, is a bra! :)

Day 5 - 5 Things that make me the HAPPIEST right now!

What are the 5 things that make you the happiest right now?

1. My kids - They make me laugh, drive me crazy, love me unconditionally and I would do anything for them.

2. My Husband - He is my rock, my very best friend and I would be lost without him. Not to mention he makes me laugh like EVERY DAY!!! Oh I LOVE THAT MAN!!!!

3. My Parents - My father recently had a heart attack while my mom was visiting family in Puerto Rico. When I brought him home she was there waiting, she took an early flight back home. Their reunion was amazing. She ran out of the house like a child greeting santa and held him. She told him she was never leaving him again and how much she loved him. OMG, it was so sweet, emotional and inspiring. To see how much she loved him. I am just so in love with them for how much they love each other (if that even makes any sense, hey I've been up all night I'm tired!)

4. My friends - without them I wouldn't have anyone to get into trouble with! :) My friends are just as much my rock as my family is! I LOVE THEM!!!!

5. LIFE - becuase even though I just got laid off I am surrounded by the best family and friends a person could ever ask for! From the moment it happened I was consoled and lifted by each of them. I swear I am the luckiest person ever! Not to mention they take the time to read my crazy blog! So even though at this time I am dealing with a crapy situation, LIFE in general is good!

Day 4 - 5 things I would tell my 16 yr. old self

List 5 things you would tell your 16 year old self if you could.

1. Don't go to that bar on New Year’s and DON'T DRINK the screwdrivers! They will make you violently ill!!!

2. Don't use so much hairspray on your bangs! They don't need to go up so high!

3. Definitely, still turn down your first date with your future husband. It will make for a good story when you are older!

4. IF and I mean IF you did decide to do a recreational drug stick to the weed. The Acid trips are over rated! Just sayin!

5. Live your life and have fun! There will always be someone who will try to bring you down. Rise above it and remember that what they say and do is a reflection of them not YOU!

Day 3 - Blog Challenge

What is the greatest amount of physical pain you ever endured?

I feel that the typical answer would be childbirth. I really tried hard to think of something else, but couldn't. I have sprained ankles, torn ligaments etc but still doesn't compare to the recovery of a C-Section.

I mean think about it. You are practically cut in half to have a watermelon removed from your body. Then you get staples and stitches. Oh and lets not forget having to pass that first fart! OMG! could anything hurt anymore???? Yes, the first bowel movement! Have Mercy!

So, after my second daughter I begged to early. I was ready Fart passed, shit taken, food was eaten I was good. They actually let me!!! I was so excited. Then after I got home I enter the home only to be confronted by the 20 stairs I have to climb to get to our living room! OH EM GEEEEEE!!! I can't express enough to you the amount of pain that caused! I could not go up the stairs. I tried to crawl, go up backwards, shimmy, you name it I tried it. My stomach on fire, in pain and exhausted.

30 minutes later and lots of crying I finally made it up the stairs. I could not believe I made it up those stairs. You have no idea. My poor husband was helpless, he offered to drive me up the side of the house to the backyard. This would then put me on the upper level. (Our house is a bi-level on a hill.) But by that time I was in the middle of the stair case. So, A. Being stubborn and B. not sure if the pain would be any easier going down, I continued! That was an intense experience!

Day 2 - 3 Legitimate Fears

Oh boy... don't judge!

1. SPIDERS - I'm not quiet sure how they became a fear. I have just always been afraid of them. I do think that as I get older it is getting worse, seriously! I enter a room and scan it, before I turn off the light to sleep I scan the room. It's almost become an OCD issue. I really need to GET A GRIP!

2. Heights - Okay, I can't even get up to the second step on a ladder without my knees getting shaky! I must have been dropped as a child, no explanation for this one either.

3. Leaving my kids before I am ready - Okay this is DEEP!!! In a tiny crevice in the back of my mind I have this fear something will happen to me or my health that will take me before my kids are grownup. CRAZY! I told you not to judge. I cannot be the only mom who has this anxiety.

Those are just 3!! I could probably list more but.... let's be real not everyone needs to know what a HOT MESS I really am!
